Emerald Bling

Hello! hello, today I'm rather excited to start a different series on this blog which you can probably tell by the title of this post, definitely picked up this idea from another blog (totally forgot the name of that blog though) but I instantly fell in love with the idea and thought hey why not!

To begin with, I have never been a jewellery wearer to be honest, I love rings and basic small stud sort of earrings and nothing more than that. But of late I have been indulging a bit too much into jewellery. As a wise-friend once told, if you don't dress up now then when will you? So yeah stepping a little out-side my comfort zone and enjoying dainty necklaces, bracelets and fancy ear-rings.

So today's feature is my absolute favourite piece of ornament, which was a wedding gift from my grand-mother, as she knew I LOVE rings and I have been wanting an emerald ring for ages so this is basically the most valued, loved and priceless possessions. The stone is gorgeous and every single time I wear this I get compliments on my ring.

Hope you liked today's post, would love to hear about what you are loving at the moment, and if you ever decide to do something like this on your blog don't forget to leave the link in the comments below, I would totally stalk you.

Life Catchup

Hello lovelies, I have been relatively slow here on the blog, not that I'm demotivated or not enjoying it, it's just I have too many blog-post planned, so making drafts for future post, since my parents will be visiting us soon and we will be going on a holiday, YAY, super excited! So preparing for those days when I just have to hit PUBLISH and not bother about typing and clicking pictures, yeah so that's my excuse for being MIA.

And the fact that my phone memory, computer memory, iPad memory everything thing is cramped up and full, I need to de-clutter and organise, speaking of decluttering, I have too much make-up and I will be moving countries soon, again, so if you are interested in buying my make-up and help give them a better home please let me know and I can do a blog-sale. And meanwhile you can also check my depop I have few items listed there. My user name is Samileen S.

And oh it's my birthday month and I'm just over-whelmed thinking about how life is moving swiftly, and I'm nearing my 30's it's insane. I will be doing a whole birthday ramble soon.

Dupe Alert

Well after months and months of resisting, I finally caved in and spend a whooping £29 on an eye shadow stick, well hey it was my birthday and I had to feel special  [inserts a rolling eye emoji *justifications*]. But if you have no better excuse to justify a ridiculous splurge (which I totally understand), here are few dupes you might want to consider. Not that any of the dupes outstand my beloved By Terry Ombre Black Star eyeshadow stick. If By terry is 5 star then these dupes could be a 3.5-4 star, so if you can resist those extra twinkly bits here are the closest dupes for Bronze Moon.

JuLy Fav

Oh boy, it's been a good while I have posted things on the blog consistently. I miss doing that, thanks to a lot of things, my parents visiting us, traveling, and my mac out of disk space to upload any more new pictures from camera, even after deleting a heck lot of things. Well that being said I thought I'd kick start with a monthly favs post.

When you are traveling and holidaying, skincare gets a bit neglected but I have few of my absolute favourite things which I rely on for a good skin day. After suffering from a terrible cold and flaky skin, The Body Shop Bouncy sleep mask came to my rescue every night, to make me feel all hydrated and plump the next morning, though it took a 2-3 days to get those flake-y's off my face but my skin is happier than ever before. For sunscreen I have been loving Nivea baby sunscreen SPF 50.

Onto the exciting part makeup, I have been quite boring with my looks but I have been absolutely obsessing over it. For the base I have been juggling between my two fav's Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser and Kiko CC Cushion foundations (this stuff is legit, and with a 50%off on it, it's that much more worth it). And if you have been coming back to my blog over and over again you already know I have one favourite concealer of life that's (you guessed it right) Maybelline age rewind.

For eyes there is only one thing that I have been reaching for is my By Terry Black Star In Bronze Moon, if you want to treat your self with one thing, this would be it, or maybe a good present to ask for, for your birthday if you haven't crossed that special day that.

For cheeks surprise surprise it's Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette, the perfect travel companion (and if you see things on repeat you know that they are truely loved.)

For lips, I have just been loving my neutrals more than ever before, and Loreal Infallible cream gloss in I have got the power is my one true love. Along with Mac dervish and Nars Anita, (oh how it kills me to see the packaging get ruined every single time I swipe it over my lips) Do you feel the same about the beautifully packaged products to just stare at them and not use it ?

For the miscellaneous bits I have been OBSESSED with my Dirty laundry chevron sandals, if you have seen my Summer Essentials post then you already know what I mean. And my portable charger which I picked up from TK Maxx on sale, and it has been saving all of us during traveling ( I would highly recommend getting one, even more so when you are on a holiday).  And oh yes for Accessories I have been loving my MK bracelet even my mum has her eye on it.

And before I wind up my post, I have been struggling with keeping up different names for the blog and my social media, so I have been thinking of switching my blog name (and have a new name in mind, though), but I wanted your suggestion should I change my blog name or stick to it, I want to do it even more so because when I went to buy a domain name, I realised Beautydetour.com has already been taken. But changing the name could affect my followership? Please it would be a great help if you all could give your precious suggestions!!

P.S. : What have you been absolutely obsessing over this past month?

Hello

travel makeup essentials
Like most people, summer brings in quite a lot of excitement in terms of traveling, so I thought I'd share whats in my 'travel makeup bag' from a 3 day trip to Paris .

I have never been a travel light kind of a person I love having options but after having a kid, things aren't exactly how I'd like, so packing light is the only option that is left especially when it comes to makeup.

Pencils, stick eyeshadows, and basically anything that is in a compact/travel friendly packaging accompanies me. To start with base I love my Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser, for its perfect color match, sheer yet evening-out-ness, and of course for the SPF. For concealer there is none other than my favourite maybelline age rewind concealer

For eyes :
By terry ombre bronze moon and Nudestix in gilt have been my absolute favourite travel companions. Gilt being more day time appropriate and bronze moon for a sultry night out, haha. Mascara wise anything water proof is the best option and nothing better than Maybelline lash sensational. And Urban Decay perversion eyeliner.

For brows:
Soap & Glory brow archery.

For cheeks:
Urban Decays naked flushed palette is the bested travel choice as it has everything in one compact case, and I absolutely adore the shades in it. And out of the habit of having options I like to keep a small stick blush this one is Tarte Flushed Cheek stain, which does doubles up as a lip stain as well.

For lips :
I won't lie I like to keep it safe with my favourite neutrals, Mac dervish lip-liner, Charlotte tilbury High Society lipgloss and Loreal cream lipgloss in I got the power.

For Tools :
Sigma F80 Flat top kabuki is the best foundation brush you will ever use if you haven't tried it yet, you need it in your life, Mac 286 stippling brush and few Q-tips.

Even though it seems like a long list of things but I promise they all fit into my pretty Ted Baker Pencil case, which I'm in LOVE with, except for the UD Naked Flush palette.

What are your travel must-haves? Are you a hoarder when it comes to packing or you prefer keeping it light?
